California Real Estate Broker
A California real estate broker is a party who helps buyers and sellers of real estate connect with each other. Salespersons that work under brokers are called real estate agents or realtors. An example of a brokerage would be Century 21 or ReMax. These brokerages employ the best real estate agents in the area who are assigned clients according to location and other applicable details. Real estate agents who work for brokerages are upheld to certain quality standards. There are also organizations for brokers and agents such as the California Department of Real Estate and the California Association of Realtors.
Working with a broker makes things easier on the consumer because they can trust that the real estate agent they are working with has been properly trained and licensed. When you begin searching for property you will need to establish a price range and figure out where you want to buy. In addition you will need to specify what kind of property you are looking for. For example there are residential properties, commercial properties and recreational properties. Different realtors have different areas in which they specialize.
A brokerage will assign you to a real estate agent who specializes in the type of property you are looking for and the area in which you are interested. There are plenty of great opportunities in the state of California. You may want to own property in wine country, which includes Napa and Mendocino. Or maybe you want to buy something in the sunny SoCal area in San Diego or Malibu. A good realtor knows their territory inside and out, and can track down the premium properties in the best locations.
You will find a variety of California real estate broker choices. There are big names with nationwide offices and smaller, locally owned companies. When working with a brokerage it is very important to make sure the brokerage has the right licenses. As mentioned before, the California Department of Real Estate can help you find a licensed brokerage and learn more about what you should look for in a real estate professional. You can even use the DRE website to search for brokers, real estate agents and other real estate professionals.
